FIDH third-party intervention: Child adoption by unmarried openly lesbian or gay individuals in France
On 3 June 2005, FIDH, jointly with ILGA-Europe, BAAF and APGL, submitted written comments on a French case concerning child adoption by an unmarried openly lesbian individual (E.B. v France). The third-party intervention argues that, as it is possible in France for an unmarried heterosexual individual to adopt a child, French administrative officials and courts are not allowed to exclude openly lesbian and gay individuals (whether or not they are living with a same-sex partner), solely because of their sexual orientations.
