FIDH third-party intervention: discrimination in Austria against same-sex second-parent adoption

On 1 August 2012, FIDH, jointly with ICJ, ILGA-Europe, BAAF, NELFA and ECSOL, submitted written comments concerning second-parent and step-parent adoption in Austria. This third-party intervention argues that the Austrian legislation is discriminatory as it makes both forms of adoption, granted to unmarried different-sex couples, legally impossible in the case of a same-sex couple.
